It is the Simple Pleasures!

These kids love the littlest things! They got a box from Meemaw... brought it in the house after it was delivered... Took turns opening it... and found themselves each with a bottle of bubbles! That was the most exciting thing for at least 2 hours... then the bubbles were the talk of the house for like 4 days! I have to remember to foster that it is the simple things in our lives that bring us pleasure!

Rocks, Dirt... It's all the same!

Our yard is not exactly ideal when you think of little kids playing... No sandbox (yet... we are looking to get one), no grass (Of which Tye is moving rocks in hopes to plant some), no place that we think is just great for them... We let them go out and play because they have to get outside. But to these little munchkins it is all the same. They play in the rocks like it is sand and they play golf, baseball, and any other creative game just the same...

Oh the joys of little boys...

Do you see this pile of "things"... Yes, "Things" to me, but to my 4 year old little boy... PURE TREASURE! This is the "Treasure" I found in one pair of pants in the laundry this morning... What does he do with them... I have no idea! His imagination is amazing! I have a good idea where each of them came from, but why he gathers these treasures... I do not know! It just melts my heart to have such joy in my life!

Memories!

When I was a kid I remember sitting on the floor every Sunday night to get my hair done for the week... Mom would put on a movie or a Sunday Hallmark show and we would sit on the floor for 2 hours and she would sponge roll my hair so it was ready for pretty curls all week...
So... it wasn't Sunday, but Ade was all clean and jammied... We sat and rolled her hair for the week! Then, yep... It was my turn! I love my little girl! When she got up this morning she ran around playing dress up with her curlers in! We have tested the curls out today to get ready for Easter Sunday! Can't wait to see her in her dress and hunting Easter Eggs this year!

5 Month Old Boston!

Yep... today our little guy is 5 month old... Man the time goes so fast... I can't believe that we are a month away from 1/2 a year... I am having a little trouble accepting that my BABY is not going to be a BABY too much longer... We took him in for a weight check and he obviously likes his bottle now. He gained 8 ounces in the last week! YEAH! Now to get him to like the solids... that is the next hurdle to get over! He just spits them out at me! He has figured out how to roll over!

Exploring our New State!

We have decided that once a week we will go explore something in our new state... What does Nevada have to offer besides the strip you ask... Well we went to explore in Red Rock Canyon and ended up taking a short little hike that lead us back to a little waterfall from the snow run off. We found pine trees in the middle of the desert. There are great trails through this whole canyon that we decided we needed to explore some more! The Rocks in the canyon actually are a great phenomenon... about 65 million years ago these rocks, mountains of sorts... literally flipped upside down. Tye really liked the hike. Ade tripped more than walk! Shawn and I just admired our time together and really enjoyed taking the kids to do something totally different than what they are used to! We look forward to going back...

The Saturday Routine!

So ever other Saturday we are responsible for major house cleaning... scrub the potties... change the beds... mop the floors... you know the drill! AdeLynne has decided that this is one of her favorite activities... Not really helpful, but we are a family and get it done! Got to work before you can play!

Time to Catch Up!

Well for all you blog stalkers... It has been a while since you have seen something new on our blog... Time has gotten away from me and there are so many things to tell you...

1. The weather here is a little colder than home... and the view from our back patio is much prettier than it has been in the past!
I am not a fan of the wind, but I guess I will have to get used to a couple of things! It is breezy for the most part... but some days it is flat out windy!

2. The whole family is now together in Henderson, Nevada! We have been here a week and are getting used to the way things are going to work! It is a bit different than we are all used to, but as a whole we are doing well!

3. If there is ever anyone who wants to know about feeding babies and working through all the different scenarios... we are the ones you can turn to! We have been blessed with a little of them all. We started with Tye who would eat "Mama Milk" or a bottle interchangeably with no problem and then weened himself from it all. We had Ade who wanted nothing to do with "Mama Milk", just a bottle. Then we have now been blessed with Boston who only wants "Mama Milk" and would refuse to take a bottle. Well as of Friday he went for his 4 month well visit and as we suspected... he was a little too thin. His appetite had been decreasing and I had tried everything possible to get him to eat. I have spent at least $250.00 on different bottles and formulas... well 12 hours, screaming and crying from us all, the 6th bottle and nipple type, and a prescribed formula from the pediatrician... He finally will drink 3 ounces at a time. It ranks up there with one of the hardest things i have ever had to do in my life... Wow! I have mixed emotions, but am glad he is on the road to getting chunky!
4. Today was the type of thing I dream of... Shawn and I sat and made our meal menu for the week... while the kids played outside and enjoyed their time with each other... Boston napped... When he woke up we decided it was a nice brisk day so we were going to WALK to the grocery store! That's right! It isn't too far and is a great little trail from the house... Tye actually rode his bike while I pushed the buggy with Boston and Ade! We got our few groceries and headed home for nap time! They took great naps from all the fresh air!
5. Shawn has found some great family activities for us! there is a really great multi generational facility... the City of Henderson has so much to offer the family... We are looking forward to exploring and getting to know our city. The first thing we will do is get to know the multi generational facility better and do what we can to get involved there!

6. Today I started on the kid's room... It has been interesting since Tye and Ade are sharing... I have to make sure there is a little of them both... so I will finish it tomorrow. I am trying to make a wall for Ade and a wall for Tye. We started on the Ade wall today... It isn't exactly what I was thinking in my head, but I will make it work! She loves ladybugs and flowers... so I will make sure she loves it before I am done! Tye's wall is obviously going to be baseball or sports related! I will add pictures when it is done... Hopefully tomorrow!

7. Ade and I made a new friend at the grocery store... we are looking forward to a play date with her and her children later this week! Got to love a little girl that talks to everyone! We were checking out and Ade started a conversation with the woman in front of us! By the end we had her name and phone number and a new friend! We were excited to meet her and look forward to meeting her family!

8. Their Meemaw got them bunk beds so we are getting used to that! They are loving it!

I think that will do it for now! I don't think I missed on on much... Maybe a little updated picture of Boston...

9. Here is the handsome little guy! He is getting so big... He just jabbers away, eats his hands all day long, and is really getting good at grabbing things and getting them to his mouth. He is working on rolling over... not quite there yet!

I will try to keep up a little better! Take care and hope to hear form you all soon!
