Grandpa's Cottage and Lake

Well... Here is where our trip ends... This is the view of the Lake from Grandpa Hasler's Cottage. Tam has gone fishing... broke the boat motor... fixed it... eaten fresh fish for dinner... had a good quiet end to the trip. I have gone through the towns and shops... cooked... eaten more food than I want to eat in a week. It has been fun, but everyone is ready to head back home!

Well This isn't Kansas Anymore...

We have left Kansas... Entered Missouri and were welcomed right away to Smithville... Missouri, where is your welcome sign. I am to document that we have entered and you gove me nothing... What a let down for the last state entrance on this part of the trip! We are about 10 miles from Uncle Jim's House!

catch ya soon as we enter the next journey to Indiana! Tam's going fishin'!

We are so close...

We have made it to Topeka, Kansas! We are on our way to Kansas City... Where it will be our mission to find Tam one of her Starbucks coffee mugs. She was so disappointed that there was not one in Amarillo or Oklahoma City. So Kansas City... You better have them... if not you might want to make one before she gets there! After Kansas City, which is now only 25 miles away, we only have a little jaunt to reach the Hasler Farm! Our journey is closing in and we have been blessed with a safe and happy drive! Next mission... check our blogging on the way to Indiana!

We are in Kansas!

We have made it to the Kansas State line... Tam has put a little acceleration on so we can get to Wichita and try some real AUTHENTIC Kansas Food! Not sure what we will find... Looks like BBQ or their version of Authentic Mexican Food! Tacos Villa for lunch was NO Tacos Mexico!

There's No Place Like Home...

Dorthy... There's no place like home...
Toto... I like the Munchkin land...
Tam... What is the Biggest Beer Cave?... Maybe we should stay in Witchita?
Jo... Why do all the trees grow at a slant?

Almost to Witchita! The last 100 miles looks just like the previous 600 miles... We are pretty sure it has just been cows and grass since Heber-Overgaard...

Oklahoma!

Here we are entering into Oklahoma....

Under 200

Yep... under 200 miles to go to get to Oklahoma City...

Amarillo by Morning

It is 9:00 am... well AZ time and we have made it to Amarillo. Now to find the Starbucks!

Tam Owning the Storm!

Well the pictures are a little difficult, but I will gladly tell you what they are as I have been riding along ... The first picture you will see if us LEAVING NEW MEXICO! Yeah! Tam has lead us to the big hair country! Oh... her hair was so beautiful as we we ready to roll out this morning... That was until she went to get the car... Tam says, "Yeah, that was the shortest lived hairdo I have ever had!"
This next Picture is the quick glimpse I got of WELCOME TO TEXAS!

Try Again!

Here is the weather forcast today... Looking a little wet!

Weather Forcast today...

Looks a little wet for the ride today!

New Plan...

So... The lyrics go to many songs this morning... The Thunder Rolls, Amarillo by Morning, On the Road Again... just to name a few. Tornado Watch 2010 continues early this morning! We gave in last night and stopped in Tuccumucari, NM... All in hopes that we could ride into Texas in the morning to see the scenery. Tam woke up early to the sound of thunder... We can see as much now as we could in the dark with the thunder storm we are driving in... Oh wait there was a burst of lightening and we saw a little more! We are starting our ride about 140 miles from Amarillo... Need gas, Need coffee... Have good music, clean hair and ready to roll!

Amarillo Bound!

Well... Made it to Albuquerque... Ate some dinner and the Finest Rudy's BBQ in the state! Stretched out legs... Changed drivers, Now Tam is behind the wheel... And we are Amarillo bound. We will stop nothing short of it! As we are driving Tam says, "I just saw Kryptonite!" Maybe I should drive!

JoLynnes a Great Driver

She got us to Albuquerque on time. Hoping to surprise Greg for dinner. Accidentally went into a Sportmens Warehouse. THATS ALOT OF HUNTING EQUIPMENT. Going to try Sports Authority next. Tam

Entering New Mexico

A step in the right direction!

Okay, Poor Planning

Oops...ended up in Snowflake! Heading north to Holbrook......Tee Hee Hee

Thursday Noon Update

We have veared a little off course. Decided to take the scenic route through Heber Overgaard. Looking at getting to Albuquerque around 7. Stopped for gas once, Starbucks once and bathroom none. Ready for all three again soon. Actually Jo says NO, we should be ok until Heber. Might disagree with her on the last point. Tam

Armarillo By Night

Amarillo By NightTime
Up from Arizone
Everything Grandpas got
Is going to a new home.
When that wind is high in the Okie sky,
I'll be putting my helmet on.
Amarillo By Nighttime
Amarillo I'll be there.
